We hear talk about righting the wrongs of this coup in the 2002 and 2004 elections. Allow me to suggest that it ain't gonna happen that way. As this illegitimate regime continues its insidious progress, trashing the Clintons and romancing the congressional democrats, the country opposed to Bush will be rocked to sleep by the media, while the spittle lipped brain-washed sheep will continue to get their fix of outrage from the media attacks on liberal agendas and the Clintons. Election reform is being discarded as the public's attention is diverted. Don't expect any correction of voting machine problems that will prevent the republicans from altering or otherwise illegally affecting election results. Florida was way too successful for them to abandon that advantage. Perhaps someone like James Baker will be appointed commissioner of elections (a stunning new cabinet post?), and democrats will be barred from future elections since they are so prone to 'mischief'. Watch for a continuation of the coup, coming to a town near you.
The frustration felt by those who oppose this sacrifice of democracy by the republicans and the media is enormous, and some have spoken about giving up in fights against the media, etc. I also feel overwhelmed by this situation and the injustice. I'm trying to keep my focus on the actions of the republican party during the election and the actions of the supreme injustices when I speak to those with spittle lips. That way I avoid the sticky morass of the republican Clinton propaganda.
I hope we continue the fight, continue the attempts to educate our friends, neighbors and co-workers, as well as the media. But now I don't think that alone will turn the tide without a true democracy loving, constitution supporting leader willing to stand up against the injustice and not ready to compromise in order to maintain the status quo. That scenario doesn't seem likely at this time. So perhaps the only solution will come as the republican right wing extremists continue to advance their illegal takeover of our government and finally overplay their hand. At that time the American People will have to decide to revolt or become slaves to an oppressive tyranny. I think that may be the truth of the excerpt I quoted above.

Although we have been told through the "media" that Carville was now coming out against Clinton - it's not true.
He is on MSNBC now unequivocally supporting the President. He called Burton - melon head - and talking about how silly this all is. He is advocating that the Pres come out and tell it all, not to congress, but to the people. He says that congress does not know what it's investigating therefore he has advised the Pres to have a news conference, something. Which he says Clinton wants to do. He said of course, this Rich pardon looks bad on it's face, but we need a "splanation" and then get on with it. He said he feels sure Clinton will say at the time it looked good - now he is second guessing himself.....
He is saying this is just a "skirmish" with Hillary and he has been through them the last 8 to 9 yrs and that this too shall pass. He is not concerned about her poll ratings.
He is in no way dissing President Clinton - no way. And I know that some of you on these lists will disagree - that we should focus on Bush and the Presidency - well we do that too.....we are of many hats. We all do our part regarding the Bush unpresidency and focus on both things. But the main focus is the disinformation of the media - and that includes the pardons.
