SUNDAY'S L.A. PROTEST, NEW BBBR UNIFORMS
LONG BEACH (gorewon2000.net) February 19, 2001 -- The Diva sends out a very special "thank you" to Kristin M. of Southern California, for appearing in public wearing her BBBR "TAFKAV" Uniform, at the "Not My President's Day" Protest in Los Angeles.
Yes, it is true, I don't own a single BBBR item. (Suffice it to say that all my discretionary income has been spent on creating the website you see before you.) So imagine my joy at seeing, for the first time, one of my designs in "real life" -- and being worn by a BBBR Resistance Fighter!
While protesting the BOGUS POTUS at the Federal Building in West Los Angeles yesterday, I glanced around, only to see a lovely brunette sporting a "TAFKAV" (*The Americans Formerly Known As Voters) T-shirt. Well, I bounced right over to her (I definitely have a dominant Tigger gene on one of my chromosomes), and said, "You are wearing my T-shirt!"
(Luckily for me, she understood that rather than accusing her of wardrobe pilfering, I was referring to the fact that she was wearing a T-shirt I had designed.)
It turns out the lovely brunette in question is Kristin M., a Southern California BBBR Resistance Fighter! She was also accompanied by Fabrizzio, a handsome young activist, who informed me that he owned a "Steal Penny" mug, with which he was vastly contented! And as if this wasn't enough to make the "Not My President's Day" Protest a rousing success, I also had a chance to meet, in the flesh:
Chuck Cirino: Director/Producer of the "BUSHWACKED!" TV documentary.
Rose Rose: Founder and Director of the "FringeFolk" website.
Gil Christener: Actor and Comedian, as well as the host of NMPD L.A.
Elaine and Merri: Radio Free BBBR Correspondents I had never met.
Alex L.: Comedian, Actor, Writer, and President of DefianceWear, Inc.
Patriotic Americans: Many dedicated Americans willing to spend an overcast Sunday agitating for truth, justice, and the restoration of our democratic institutions.
There were, at various times, up to sixty of us, with only a single, lone Bush supporter in attendance. The camaraderie amongst the NMPD protesters was fabulous, and the overwhelming response we received from cars and passersby was heartwarming.
At the protest, several Resistance Fighters expressed a desire for a wider selection of BBBR Uniforms and Resistance-Ware (T-shirts, mugs and mousepads). The Diva aims to please. So, with that in mind, I announce three new BBBR designs:
