WASHINGTON (gorewon2000.net) January 25, 2001 -- In response to the Infraudulation of George W. Bush which cemented Coup2K, the American Electorate has changed its name to an unpronounceable symbol in protest.
In a move certain to incite controversy and conversation, the former American electorate has dropped its established moniker and replaced it with an unpronounceable symbol. Clearly an expression of protest against the Infraudulation of an undemocratically selected UnPresident, the decision has taken journalists and pundits completely by surprise.
As part of the stunning name-change decision, the members of the former electorate made only a single concession to media representatives, which they see as accessories to the criminal actions that solidified the Coup2K takeover of the Oval Office: allowing journalists and pundits to refer to the one-time American electorate as "The Americans Formerly Known As Voters" (TAFKAV).
"The American electorate is dead," explained The Diva, "The most powerful court in the Unites States -- I refuse to refer to them as The Supreme Court -- killed it." She went on to say that, "But from the ashes of its funeral pyre, a new entity has emerged, TAFKAV."
"America's former voters now know that their legally cast ballots can be nullified by those in positions of great political power, for whom partisan loyalty is more important than the will of The People."
This most recent act of defiance by American voters enraged over Coup2K was obviously inspired by the 1996 decision by pop music icon Prince to change his name as an expression of rebellion against Warner Brothers Records, with whom he had a dispute. He, too, replaced his well-known name with a symbol.
When asked why TAFKAV chose to follow the example of an individual in the entertainment industry, and one with no apparent political affiliations in the public consciousness, The Diva smiled, and shook her head. "I know what you are thinking," she said. "You are thinking that he was chosen because he is a black man, and because the media has reported Coup2K outrage as a phenomenon restricted to the black community."
She denied such a connection, stating, "That is not the reason. Prince is a funky rebel -- an eclectic artist who crosses traditional genres and labels." The Diva stressed a commonality between Prince and TAFKAV, saying, "Like Prince, TAFKAV are an eclectic group, hailing from all political parties, philosophical leanings, classes, and cultures. Like Prince," she explained, "the TAFKAV group is a 'crossover artist,' albeit in this case, a political one."
As one of his public acts of defiance against his record label, Prince appeared and performed in public sporting the word "slave" written across his cheek. Will TAFKAV do the same, marking or tattooing their faces?
"I am personally aware," answered the Diva, "of only a single patriot who has taken an individual demonstration of outrage against Coup2K to that point." The Diva described this rebellious spirit as "a French woman, living on an island just off New York, who is fortunate enough to receive many visitors who might be moved by her creative protest."
