MY EXCHANGE WITH A FELLOW PROTESTOR FROM LA
FROM NEE
Funny all this talk about the rally has come up again. I got an interesting call today...check it out:
It turns out not all of those Freepers from Saturday's rally were true Bushies!
One of the guys at the rally (from one of the organizations I contacted, not a ttp member) told me that he thought he recognized one of the Bush supporters...but couldn't place him. Later, he figured it out and gave him a call.
Turns out the guy is actually a journalist! (I can't say from where.) He's been hanging with the Freepers undercover, going to all of the rallies, and has gotten quite an interesting scoop. He's been on their site for some time and developed serious "friendships" with a good number of them. It makes him a little nuts to protest with them and all, as you can imagine...but that's how he gets 'em to trust him. Part of a national story, I guess, for each Freeper base. It will probably break sometime after the election. Who knew????
So just hug everyone--cuz ya never know what they really believe.
Peace!
ME TO NEE:
Dear Nee:
I can go you one better. On November 18th, at the first rally that the Bushies {{{SHUDDER}}} showed up to counter-protest, there was a 20- something guy with a HUGE Bush-Cheney sign.
Eventually, he came up onto our wall with that sign, which bugged me because it blocked some of our signs. In response, and in an admitted excess of humor, I made a new sign that said "I'm With Stupid -->" and began following him around with my sign pointing to his Bush-Cheney sign. This went on for about 10 minutes, with him being totally cool about it, which struck me as funny.
Then it got weirder. He started to walk towards the parking lot, and I followed, not knowing if he was leaving, or what... So, he turns to me and says, "Are you in love with me or something?" (joking). And I said, "No." And then he said, "I'm leaving. Do you want my sign?" My mouth just dropped right open. There I was, with my "I'm With Stupid -->" sign, which he could clearly see, pointing at his sign. "Sure, I'd love that," I said.
He gave me his giant Bush-Cheney sign. Now, I ask you... What are the chances that this guy was a for-real Bush supporter and voluntary protester? I mean, he was even attractive, for Pete's sake! No sloped forehead or knuckles dragging on the ground, or anything like that! :)
So, I don't know if that guy was a reporter, or paid protester, or what, but I seriously doubt that he was what he appeared to be. Neat, huh?
