Joanne, Non-Recovering Aerosmith Addict
From: Joanne Subject: Aerosmith
Hi again, Diva and fellow fan,
YES, first time I "really" smiled, too! Now all those times I have to turn off NPR because I hear BushieBoy's voice, or one of his henchmen defending him, I have something WONDERFUL to listen to! Keep on groovin',
Joanne (aka Onewaystrt@...)
What if they had said to Franklin, Washington, and Jefferson, "Oh, just get over it" -- and they did?
Dear Joanne:
I don't know about Aerosmith... I think they've got some serious sexual juju/voo-doo/mojo thing going on... Otherwise, how to explain the fact that a 35-year old Diva like me is going through an acute puberty relapse?
:)
(And if the founding fathers had "gotten over it", you and I might be stuck listening to Oasis, rather than blessed with the bounty of Aerosmith. Of course, such a terrible thought bears no further contemplation...)

AND NOW, THE SERIOUS STUFF:
With Tuesday's BBBR site update, I posted an exchange I had been having with a conservative activist and webmaster, and asked for advice from the BBBR Resistance Fighters on whether or not I should send my final reply.
I asked, and you provided...
Click HERE to read my e-mail exchange with "John Doe."
Click HERE to read selected e-mails expressing opinions on the exchange thus far, and whether or not to send my final reply.
Come back when you're finished. I will listen to Aerosmith in the meantime...
:)

Done? Alrightee... Read on...
Now, a confession from "The Diva": This purpose of this exercise was two-fold. I wanted to know what Resistance Fighters thought of my exchange with John Doe, and of my final reply (I read and re-read it. I meant every word I said -- except for the "hell" part, since I don't believe in hell...), but I also wanted to see if the BBBR Resistance Fighters would fall for John Doe's line.
Some did, some didn't. Which illustrates a point...
As liberals, we have got to stop believing everything we read, especially when written by conservatives. Just because WE wouldn't lie, doesn't mean that THEY don't.
John Doe's sites (which I have, to my complete nausea, surfed extensively) express views and opinions that are precisely the opposite of what his e-mail states are HIS views and opinions.
I've struggled with the decision of whether or not to post links to the editorials he has written that prove my point. I have come to the decision not to post them, and I'll tell you why:
The Free Republic, another website in the same political vein, is often frequented by liberals doing opposition research. I have no problem with that, but it bothers me that people like you and I are pumping up that site's stats, making it seem more popular than it is -- and thus, giving it more political clout.
It's a difficult call to make; but as for me, I decided not to post the links to John Doe's sites.
If you'd like to put your two-cents worth in on the subject of linking to opposition sites, e-mail me.
