Hi all, We need your help. This is an emergency resolution being submitted for consideration by the democratic party. I need to emphasis Disabled lives are being put at risk with this energy crisis. As an example: The area I live in has no gas, we are electric only. Propane can be used but need electricity to run it. I also have a pellet stove, which require electricity to drop the pellets. Up until last week we were in a block that did not face power outages. We have enough without forced outages i.e.: two weekends in a row we were without power, one day for 10 hours the next weekend over 24 hours. This week we were without notification put into a block 10 and power was shut off with no notice. Now I said everything is electric right, which includes my garage door, so I could not get my car out of the garage, could not get my scooter out of my car, could not use a generator as the garage door needs to be open or we have fumes. As such I was stranded. And of course no help was available to open the garage door or start the generator. I started thinking about people who use ventilators, or need wheelchairs and other equipment charged and realized the danger disabled are being put under. On top of this we do not receive extra base rates, even though 80% live and work from home. And are home more than the average person, simply because of the circumstance of disability. As such we are presenting the followings emergency resolution for consideration at the convention. Can you help promote support of this resolution?
