Tammy,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Your description of the goings on was wonderful.  I felt as though I had attended myself.

My sentiments are pretty much the same as yours on this horrible injustice, so I wanted to scream, applaud, and weep as I read your vivid account.

Thanks again for all you do for democracy.

The Diva,

Beautiful letter, and fun to read.  It's amusing you have to educate most of the Democrats, which leaves me to believe it's about time we put into highest office the ones who already get the picture.

Sincere best wishes,

Chris C.

Good stuff, Div.

Next time an event such as this come up, please let everyone know, even at the last minute (I'm sure you did and I missed it).  I would have loved to have gone there.   I am developing a entertainment and media effort with some others which I expect will help the right (not THEE Right) people get elected.

Best,

1)  Diva - It's nice to know such a passionate, strong willed, feisty person like you is on our side!  I'm breathing a little easier today. :)

2)  I am a member of Democrats.com, VoterMarch.org, and several other Democratic organizations - How can I get information about what's going on in Los Angeles as far as Conventions?  I had no idea there was a Convention yesterday, and I heard about another Breakfast Convention they had in Downtown Los Angeles but it wasn't until I saw it on the news that night.

3)  You can count on me to be one of the many who will keep fighting until this injustice is made right.

Keep it up!  Many are right behind you!

Bridget B. M.

Dear Bridget:

Thank you for your wonderful e-mail.

I try my best to post all the Southern California actions on the BBBR (coup2k.com), just as quickly as I hear about them.  For instance, I posted the SCADA Conference info on June 2, at:

http://www.coup2k.com/alerts06022001.html

I don't always do a complete job, as I am the only one working on the site and am in perpetual overload mode, so there are fallbacks, mostly on YahooGroups, that I recommend to folks as well.  If you like, I can send you a list of groups to consider joining or monitoring, and my site's group is listed below in my signature, as well.

Let me say, for me, that it means the world that you are with us, and fighting, and that you took the time to write in.

We need every Resistance Fighter we can get.

Hi Tammy, you Diva, You!!!   I just thought that should write you and tell you that I really loved this letter about your attendance at the SCADA conference yesterday!

"I'm glad the both you and Rose were able to be there, and to root for Mr. Bugliosi, who is also my hero as well"!!!

"I wasn't aware that you were Bi-Racial, but now I fully understand why you are so Beautiful"!!!

:-)

Sincerely, Mr. Evans 'D.F.F.CA."!!!

Dear Mr. Evans:

Hi Tammy,

I apologize to you if I'm wrong!  I hope that you aren't offended, but I must have misread your letter, but I thought that you said that you were Bi Racial!

"These are your words friend"!!!

I MEET MY SISTER, MAXINE WATERS,

I'm black, as most of you already know.  Granted, I didn't always know this, but it's never to late to learn the truth.  On January 7, 2001, I formally switched my personal racial identification, due in no small part to Maxine Waters.

"This is why I thought you were Bi-Racial"!!!

Peace friend :-)

P.S. Whatever race you are friend, I think that you are a very Beautiful person"!!!

Dear Diva and friends......(dear) Norma forwarded your marvelous accounting of the goings on...as her post states, below this add-on...and I HAD to add my gratitude to hers......

It was more heartening than you can imagine for me to read your passionate account of the SCADA. and I too wish I could have been in the presence of TRUTH and HONESTY in front of so many folks!!!!  I feel as if we are all living in a surrealistic dream/nightmare of pretension...dishonesty....DENIAL....

the truth is too painful so in true dysfunctional manner no one wants to admit the f***ing (GOP) elephant in the middle of the living room....

how long can we go on with this festering boil unlanced...this infectious process unattended.....this big poopy elephant living in our midst?????

NO TRUTH....NO JUSTICE.....

NO JUSTICE.....NO PEACE!!!!...

this holds true in the middle east as well as in our own backyard.....

I wish I could heard/seen Bugliosi and Maxine Waters speak for me, too.

THANK YOU for your excellent report.....

once again....you've put my heart into words.

i was seething today listening to that little uncle tom piece of crap larry elder on KABC, dissing the entire conference. he picked on ed begley with sh** about his bicycle riding (he made it sound like ed didn't have a car but rode around town on his bike instead like a nut) or....warren is a great guy but terribly misguided or....

nevermind. i'll just start to boil and i'd much rather remember what we all experienced sunday and remember vincent and how he is preparing to really do battle and get those f***s put in prison.

btw....you neglected to mention that the esteemed president of dogs for democracy was present at your table ;-) hehe...the one with 4 legs.

thank you for the stickers!

Dear Jamie:

I'm glad you enjoyed my report.  It's still a work in progress (obviously).

I got to the part about meeting Maxine, and writing about that interlude

drained me, for some odd reason, so I stopped writing for the day.

yeah well...remember how hysterical i got with her? just seeing the woman made me break into tears. it's the way she held me in the conference room when i broke down on her shoulder that was deeply touching. i have heard so many repugs demean and diss her that it makes me sick to my stomach. she has more courage in a drop of her saliva than they have in their entire beings!

oh i also wanted to point out...that you mentioned there were four of us resistance fighters but only named rose and kim. not that i'm looking for glory but it is just for literal consistancy ;-) we're all tired.

if you are up past 10 pm some nights, you might like to tune in KGO from SF if you can get it (810 am) which only comes thru at night here (or you can get it on the web). bernie ward at 10 and then ray taliafero at 1 am absolutely ream bush's ass every night. it'll make you feel better.

how do we join in jesse jr's org? he kicked big time ass! he is the future of this movement! and where are the kennedy kids these days? ;-)

And yes, I caught my error in omitting your name before I sent my report out to publishers.  Fear not, it will be corrected on the site as well.

I can't really describe her physical reaction to what I said.  She sort of jerked, like someone had given her a shock, and then looked into my eyes, and said, "That's a powerful statement!"

This brought tears to MY eyes...I can't imagine what I would've felt standing

The enthusiasm Bugliosi generated in the room is probably the most significant development. Little by little, people find out the truth, get educated. His book is on NYT best sellers list, by the way!

Subject: [Voter] My letter to Gephardt

After reading The diva's account of his performance in Cali yesterday, I felt moved to write him the following (I'll send it snail mail):

Hon.  Richard Gephardt

Office of House Democratic Leader

1226 Longworth House Office Building

Washington, DC 20515

(202) 225-0100

e-mail: gephardt@mail.house.gov

Dear Mr. Gephardt

I hear that in your speech at the democratic convention in California, you talked about hate. I hear that you extolled the virtues of forgiveness as witnessed in South Africa.

I feel compelled to give you the historical perspective that you lack:  The people from South  Africa were noble indeed. They exchanged their right to punish for something more precious: THE TRUTH. That makes their gesture exemplary and powerful. They made sure that the atrocities from the past were recorded for future generations, so they won't be revisited.

They did not just " move on" like we are asked to do. That would have been weak. In order to be given, forgiveness must be asked for.

I did not hear the truth yet about my stolen vote. I did not hear DeLay's thugs who stopped the recounts in Miami Dade asking for forgiveness.  I did not hear Scalia and the gang confessing about subverting the Constitution.  I did not hear the governor of Texas admitting that he was not elected. Heck, I did hot even hear him admitting that the majority in this country is dead against his right wing agenda.

I did not hear the media admitting their complicity to the coup against our democracy. They are at it even now, covering for the governor's faults and attacking us.

Without the truth, how are you going to make sure that next time we'll have elections?

Mr. Gephardt, do not give away my right to forgive. It is mine, and until you understand the value of the truth, I am not giving you the right to do so.

Sincerely,

Leah F.

Tammy,

Thank you so much for your debriefing on SCADA. I appreciate your energy; sometimes it helps me to tap into it.

I totally agree with your comments about Vincent Bugliosi.  He's a true hero.  I am so grateful to him.

That's why I want to make a suggestion to your many BBBR readers:  buy 5-10 copies of his book, "Betrayal of America" and give all but one away.

They are *very* cheap; a number of online stores have them for ~$5.50 a pop.  For that small amount we can spread the word, support his heroic efforts, show the publishers that the American people care about this subject, and get that book on the best-seller lists where it belongs, and where it will be harder for the mainstream slimeball media to ignore.

Just think how bummed the NY Times will be to actually list that book among the top ten.  Oh, the HORROR.  Heh.

I just bought 8 copies and I've read it and given one away so far. I want everyone to know what he has to say.

Thanks Tammy.  Keep up the great work.

I enjoyed your report.  A few days ago Vincent was on Geraldo Rivera.  I loved it.  I ordered his book from Amazon.  At the time the Supreme Court brought up this protection crap and mentioned it was a one time ruling,  I laughed.  Who did they think they were kidding?  That's the way the Republicans snow people.  If you say it enough people will believe it's the truth.  After all they are the Republicans.  Now their selling their Judicial Nominations rules.  They say the Democrats are guilty of ideology.  What do you think they've been doing for years?  I am so frightened of this Bush administration and the bills they have already passed.  Tax Cuts - these cuts are raping our treasury.  The budget is a joke.  He doesn't intend to adhere to his budget.  Budgets are made to break.

We are going to have to be strong Democrats.  Whether we agree with their strategies or not.  We can let them know if we disagree.  However we must have a strong front.

Dick Gephardt is trying to show the public that they are trying to get along with the Republicans.  However, he's a fighter and he will stand up when he's needed most.

I loved the Black Caucus during the election debacle.  Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson, and Jesse Jackson, Jr. are doing a wonderful job.  They all stand up for the right reasons.

By the way, Tammy, I'm white.  I don't see the issues in this country as black or white.  They are all our issues.  Bush and his cronies stand for tyranny.  He's not a leader - he doesn't lead because of a strong commitment for what is right for this country.  He doesn't lead by persuasion. He is leading by commanding and demanding.

I'm 68 years old and in my life I've tried to fight for the right things that includes everyone.  Whether it be for teacher's strikes, better school board members, better village board members, etc.  I've always participated in civic matters.  Believe me I was not appreciated by the status quo people.

I sued Ralston Purina for age discrimination and won.  At that time the EEOC's budget had been cut by Reagan so I had to find my own employee practice lawyer.  This was about principal.  Not a bunch of money.  They were doing this to women who had no money to stand up to them.  I happened to have $2,500. for a retainer.  It ended up costing over $8,000, but Ralston had to reimburse me as well as pay a settlement. The federal judge was Steven Limbaugh, a relative to Rush Limbaugh.  He's also the judge that was involved at the end with the school desegregation suit in St. Louis.  As you probably have read John Danforth, the former Senator, is a stockholder in Ralston Purina, a company his grandfather started.

Don't get discouraged . . . hang in there!

Howdy, Tammy. I'm the one in the wide-brimmed hat at 'Wake Up Democrats!' who bought a bunch of buttons and mentioned that my Democratic Club's website had a link to Coup2k.com. -- Our links page is at:

    www.lafn.org/politics/gvdc/QuickLinks.html

and the link to coup2k.com is near the top. (Sorry, my links page is text  only -- it's already 105k! -- so there isn't room for your banners.) No need for you to put a link to us, our stuff is pretty tame compared to yours -- extremely tame.

Since November I've been passing out copies of articles from websites like yours and from newspapers like the Manchester Guardian, as well as stuff  that I wrote. It's very nice to have sites that keep archives about this coup d'etat. Big Brother hasn't tried to eliminate you all, yet. But he's still in office another three and a half years...

I read the first part of your report on the S.C.A.D.A. CONFERENCE 2001 -- very interesting. Dick Gephardt lost me on that "love and forgiveness" tangent as well. Maybe he skipped an intro that would've tied it in to the rest of his speech. Perhaps he just wanted to let us know that he was compassionate. Who knows? It was an odd departure, given the rest of his speech. However sympathetic those stories were, a lot of the people there -- not just you -- were angered over his implication that we should forgive the Bush gang.

Everyone later cheered when Vincent Bugliosi called for the impeachment of the five Justices. I'm sure the cheers would have brought the roof down if someone had called for the impeachment of the Bush brothers and Kathryn Harris!

Keep up the good work. I enjoy your site a lot and I'm sure that our Club members, many of whom were in the Counter-Innaugurals in L.A. and Washington, DC, will want some of your buttons and stuff. If we come up with any ideas for buttons I'll send them to you.
